Melby

Cross SinglePurchased

Stockholm quartet Melby got a lot of attention when they early last year debuted with catchy single Human. The track which was hailed as “one of the best pop singles of the year” by acclaimed Swedish magazine HYMN was closely followed by atmospheric second single Regnet. Since then the band have showed off their full potential on live scenes in as well Norway as Sweden and have been compared to acts such as Dungen, Amason and Daughter. Cross is the first single in ten months for Melby and a first taste of what’s to expect later this spring. The single sees the band showing off some of their characteristic qualities via distinct guitar solos mixed with well-crafted synth bass lines and folky harmonies. The quartets light, semi-psychedelic folk pop is led by Matilda Wiezells enchanting voice which fits perfectly with Melby’s musical landscape. Wiezell recently provided guest vocals in Steve Buscemi’s Dreamy Eyes hyped single ‘Closer’ which has been featured by DIY Magazine, Amazing Radio, The Revue and many more. The band will release their debut self-titled EP in May via Rama Lama Records and a new single is to expect in April.
