Julius Winger artist

Julius (born May 1st, 1970) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. With the guitar as accompaniment and companion he tells stories through his music, with enthusiasm for the ocean, life, death and love. He performs songs within the proud Norwegian tradition, creating experiances that are characterized by an atmosphere from the Norwegian coastline and maritime history. Julius Winger has released two CDs. The debut album "Store sanger om havet", produced by Trygve Seim, came out in 2005 and entails 10 songs which he has both composed and written the lyrics to. The song "Sommernatt" was # 1 on the Norwegian radioprogramme 'Norsktoppen', and remained there for 15 weeks. In the spring of 2007, he released the single "Hovedøen", which is a duet with Kari Diesen. The album "Kjærlighet og andre misforståelser" was released on Kirkelig kulturverksted in 2008. On the 9th of April 2011, he launched his latest single in Nitimen on NRK P1, and invited the listeners to a contest where they could come with suggestions for the title of the song. The response was overwhelming and the show recieved over 1,000 suggestions for a title. The song was named "Aurora Nemorosa". On june 14th 2013, he releases his newest album "Under Linden", which is an interpretation of Robert Levin's broadside ballads.
